What on earth am I doing?!?!
So hopefully you’ll have seen or heard that I am letting people come and train with me for free throughout June.
FREE?!?!? But this is your job!!!! Why’d you let people train with you for free?!?!?!
Well…I have several reasons for why I’m letting people come along and train for me for nothing:
I need to train myself too, so why not do it together with some mates
Having others with me will help keep me motivated
I can get some exercises and drills done that I wouldn’t normally be able to do on my own
I can make the sessions really fun and enjoyable which is somewhat hard to achieve when training alone
But…..Ultimately……
I want to create a community! A movement loving community!
Do you remember when you were a kid and you’d wander down the park to play football and you’d see a big match going on?
Within 5 minutes you’d be playing in that match. You’d have wandered over and asked to join in!
Why as adults do we lose this ability to interact with others in this way? I WANT IT BACK!
I see so many people looking bloody miserable out running, pounding the pavement, moving incorrectly, not getting much bang for their buck as they run non-stop at a slow pace and usually not getting any better!!!!
So why not get together?…..Why not train on some nice soft grass?……Why not move forwards and backwards and side-to-side?…….Why not challenge some different energy systems?……Why not do some training that will actually make you function and move better?!?!
I already have had interest from almost 20 people about these sessions. They will be based at Meadowbank Recreation Ground, Dorking. We will be meeting at 6pm by the Cricket Pavilion at the top. All you need to do is turn up in training clothes and shoes with a bottle of drink and preferable a watch with a timer/stopwatch on it.
These sessions are open to everyone and anyone. Any age. Any gender. Any experience. Any ability!
They are at 6-7pm come rain or shine on Tuesday the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th June for the time being.
