This exercise is a derivative of the olympic lift, the clean
If you adjust your grip so it’s wider it can be used as a derivative of the olympic lift, the snatch
By working from a hang you’ll already add tension to the muscles of your posterior chain (back, glutes, hamstrings)
And by explosively extending the hips, knees and ankles you’ll drive the bar up whilst performing an upright row movement
The key to this exercise is to move the bar quickly
Be aggressive
Be explosive
Pop those hips
and snap the bar up to the chin
